The reason is that the file with the segfault is described in this commit. The problem is that the file you downloaded from Google/Korbonska contains a segfault, and not the file from the PPA link. There is no real link between the problem of Painter 6 and the one of Painter and AMT Emulator, it just happened in the same project.
